So much of learning is visual, and we understand that long-term educational performance is closely linked to a child's ability to see clearly in class. The issue can be that many students lack access to routine eye exams.
We strive every day to expand accessible vision care for all, so we thought what better way to channel our passion than in our own community.
In 2015, we initiated our first program with the Boston Public Schools to see if convenient, high-quality, and affordable vision care was needed among students. The results were inspiring! 5 years later, we launched "Vision for Boston," where we provided free vision screenings, eye exams, and eyewear to 10,000+ underprivileged children in the month of January alone (at no cost to the students or their families). For some of these students, our visit was their very first eye exam!
