So much of learning is visual, and we understand that long-term educational performance is closely linked to a child's ability to see clearly in class. The issue can be that many students lack access to routine eye exams.
We strive every day to expand accessible vision care for all, so we thought what better way to channel our passion than in our own community.
In 2015, we initiated our first program with the Boston Public Schools to see if convenient, high-quality, and affordable vision care was needed among students. The results were inspiring!
Since then, we launched "Vision for Boston," our largest philanthropy initiative to-date, and have had the opportunity to provide free vision screenings, eye exams, and eyewear to over 5,000 underprivileged children. For many of these students, our visit was their very first eye exam!
From the start, this program has been funded by our visits to local corporate offices. Every eye exam received and glasses bought helps makes it possible for this program to grow.
If you're interested in sponsoring a specific Vision for Boston visit, reach out to our team to learn more about this opportunity, as we're currently planning our 2024 visits.
"Some of our students would have never had the opportunity to receive vision screening, if it was not for (20/20 Onsite)." -Nurse, Brighton High School
"Thank you eternally for helping us make (this visit) happen. We got a remarkable number of kids set up with glasses, and all seemed very excited to *see* how much things will improve with your help." -Nurse, Match Charter Public School
