COVID-19 Safety & Our Mobile Clinics: What You Can Expect On Board

With rising COVID-19 cases, the last place you may want to head is a public place, especially a doctor’s office with a crowded waiting room and questionable sanitary measures.

However, you are in great hands when coming aboard 2020 On-site’s Mobile Vision Clinics for your eye appointment. Our fleet is more sanitary and efficient than some regular brick and mortar optometrist offices. In fact, 2020 On-site has received a certification from STERIS for excellent air quality.

Our main goal is to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. Here is what you can expect when you book an appointment with us.

Before you arrive:

Even before you step foot in our mobile clinic, our team has worked hard to prepare for your visit. Our staff members are routinely tested for COVID-19 each week, and go through a rigorous screening and symptom checking process before each workday to ensure our team on board is healthy. All of our patients are pre-screened for symptoms, including contactless temperature checks, before coming inside the clinics.

Abiding by social distancing protocols recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we stagger appointments to minimize the number of patients and 2020 On-site staff inside the clinic. Appointments are now more spaced out to allow for the increased sanitation of equipment and surfaces between patients.

When you arrive:

When you arrive for your appointment, simply ring the doorbell and you will be greeted outside by our Store Manager. He or she will ask you if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19, if you have been around anyone who has been diagnosed, or if you have had other COVID-like symptoms in the past two weeks. Then you will be checked with an infrared thermometer to ensure you don’t have a fever.

Once inside, we will check you in behind a plexiglass window. As with most businesses, masks are required for patients and staff while on board the mobile vision center.

You also don’t need to worry about being in close quarters with other patients. Our clinics only allow a certain number of people on board so proper social distancing is followed.

During your appointment:

The cleanliness and safety continues into the exam room. In between patients, our team thoroughly wipes down all surface areas including exam room chairs, optometric equipment and door handles with a medical grade sanitizing solution called CAVI spray. While you’re with your doctor, we also clean all the surfaces you may have touched while in our waiting area.

You can also breathe easy knowing every one of our mobile clinics is equipped with two high-quality HEPA filters which are frequently replaced to filter out harmful particles in the air, including the COVID-19 virus.

After your appointment:

You don’t need to stress about crowds while shopping for your next pair of glasses. Once you are finished with your appointment, our Store Manager (and resident Eyeglass Expert!) will assist in selecting the perfect pair using sanitized trays and minimal contact. Any frames that are tried on in our facility are immediately disinfected using a UV-light sanitizer.

When it’s time to checkout, our team uses contactless transaction methods, providing electronic prescriptions and receipts via email. You can expect your contact lenses to be delivered within 3 to 5 business days and your glasses in 7 to 10 business days — both shipped directly to your doorstep!

Once you leave, our team completes your appointment paperwork and gets to work sanitizing everything you may have touched in the mobile clinic. We wait for the next patient and the process starts all over again!
